It is often not enough to just stop the behaviour. There is a need for repatterning of belief systems, looking at nutrition and environmment , as well as changing subconscious and conscious actions and thoughts that are triggering the behaviour. This can sound like a lot, but it can be really easy with the right help! The tools and experience I have in this area can help you really start living the life you want to live.
How can kinesiology offer a holistic approach to addiction recovery support.
When working with those who are going through addiction recovery, I work with with the entire system to help make the changes needed. These are:
- The Mind: By bringing awareness to your conscious and subconscious thoughts and feelings allows you to have more choice over them, leading to a greater choice in your actions and healthier habit formation.
- Belief systems: Identifying and repatterning belief systems and subconscious patterns that are impacting your decision making and cravings.
- Emotions: Ascertaining emotional trauma and triggers and release the power they are holding over you. This makes it easier for you to process your feelings without resorting to addictive behaviours.
- Energetic systems: Bringing balance to these helps improve how you feel which ultimately improves your energy and vitality and making it easier for you to choose healthier responses.
- Nutritional and Dietary support: Providing you with awareness of your the ideal nourishment while getting awareness of stressful foods that might be leading to unhealthy feelings and more unhealthy behaviours.
- Reducing physical pain and tension: Physical pain and tension is often a major trigger for many addictions. when we feel well we are able to make more conscious choices that support our overall wellbeing.
- Environmental factors: I may help to identify environmental factors that might be increasing the stress on our wellbeing and leading to triggering addictive behaviours. I can also support you to create a healthier environment to support you with healthier habit forming.
- Habits: helping to identify what healthier responses to the feelings and experiences that often trigger addictive behaviours.
Everyone’s addiction is different. Each have their own experiences that have bought them to where they are now. As do they have their own reasons for getting better. Some may find that they just want to control their impulses. Others want to live more of a life of purpose. This means that not everyone’s recovery will happen the same or need the same supports.
What to expect.
I suggest at least 3 sessions when working with addictions. There are often a number of layers to your addictions that need to be worked through to be able to move away from the current response and towards greater choice in your actions. You may notice a change within the first session, but follow-up sessions help you to move further away from the behaviour so it becomes harder to fall back into those old habits and cravings when those triggers occur.
Through Kinesiology, I am able to use muscle testing to quickly and effectively identify the factors that are important to your addiction recovery process. Facilitating the process towards your goals. It is your subconscious that guides us in this process by telling us what we need to do next. One step at a time. The aim is to provide you with a healthy mind-body connection where you have all of the the resources you need to easily make choices for your highest good.
When you have a clear mind with a body that has ample energy and vitality, you easily make better choices.
